May 2024 Bouldering League
We are excited to host our first bouldering league! Meet new people, compete with friends, and have a great time at our low stakes, fun-focused league. Open to ALL skill levels (see scoring details below).
Dates: Every Tuesday at 5:30pm in May 2024 (5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/22)
Details:
Teams of 3. You may sign up as a team of 3, a team of 2, or as an individual and be assigned to a team.
Max of 12 participants (4 teams total). We will run another league in the Fall with more spots if this proves to be popular.
Pizza party/awards presentation on 5/22 at 7pm for all participants.
Prizes: the friends you make :)
Participants will climb the newly set section on Tuesday and each team member will submit their top 2 climbs, receiving their adjusted points for both of those climbs. The team’s total points will be used to calculate standings.
Price: $15 for non-members, $10 for members. The fee mostly goes towards the pizza party at the end :)
Members are annual, monthly, or 30-day. 5 pass packs do not count as members.
Scoring
Scoring is adjusted by skill level and a team of 3 beginners have just as much of a chance of winning as a team of 3 experts (or any team composition). At registration, you will select a grade level that you find challenging but would expect to complete in one session. Points are then awarded based how each person performed relative to their skill level. If the person is consistently outperforming their stated skill level, we will adjust that persons skill level and reassign points.
See scoring table below. Please read the table horizontally - for example, if a V3 climber climbs a V4, they get 55 points. If they climb a V6, they get 60 points.
